ConstructSim Planner CONNECT Edition Update 5 Help

Open a Repository Dialog

Opens when you click the Change button in the Active section of the Tree Manager dialog. Before creating a new DGN tree, you need to describe how you want to connect to the DGN file. Use the Open A Repository dialog to define this connection. Click the Show Advanced or Hide Advanced button to control the display of the advanced options.

After configuring the options in the dialog, click Open to return to the Tree Manager dialog. If you are creating a new tree, it displays in the Tree pane. If you are modifying options for an existing tree, the changes are applied when you close the dialog.

SettingDescription
Repository Type

For DGN trees, this option is set to DGN EC Repository and cannot be changed.

Location

The value _ACTIVE_ in this field connects to the currently active DGN model. To connect to a specific DGN file and model, specify the full path to the file and the model name, separated by “::”. For example, use c:\designs\TFD23.dgn::NorthWing to connect to the NorthWing model in TFD23.dgn.

Include Referenced Models

Allows you to control how many items are shown in the tree.

  • All — (The default) Includes items from the model to which you are connected as well as from referenced models.

  • Direct References Only — Includes only items in the model to which you are connected.

  • None — Excludes items in all models.

Allow Editing

You cannot edit the properties associated with the items in the DGN file. By default this option is set to No, making the business properties read-only.

Discover item types

The libraries that define the item types can be stored in the DGN file or externally in a location defined by the MS_ECFRAMEWORK_SCHEMAS configuration variable (or supplied by an application).

  • All — (The default) Select this option to use both scanning methods described below. This will ensure that all relevant item types will be located.

  • Scan for items used in the file — If the library is external, every element in the file needs to be scanned to determine its type. Use this option to find the appropriate library.

  • Scan for item type libraries in the file — If the library is stored in the DGN file, use this option.

Property Enabler Searching

Property Enablers are applications that make otherwise proprietary data visible as business items.

  • Engineering Content — If there is a property enabler exposing items that you want to see, choose this option.

  • All — If you choose this option, you will also see items exposed by system property enablers that expose DGN element properties that are typically not very useful from a business perspective.

  • None — (The default) For better performance, choose this option if there are no property enablers exposing items that you need.

Change Notifications

Select Yes if you want the tree to react immediately to changes made in the DGN file. The default is No.
